It’s a joyous occasion as we celebrate 30 years of freedom in South Africa.

This is a poignant reminder of the crucial role played by countries like Mexico in the struggle against apartheid.

Thanks to the strong stand taken by Mexico nationally and internationally, the oppressive regime was overthrown.

In 1991, Nelson Mandela visited Mexico to express his gratitude to the Mexican government and people for their decisive support in South Africa’s quest for freedom.
