Message of the Embassador

As we embark on the new year of 2024, I extend warm greetings to you on behalf of the South African
Embassy in Mexico City. This year holds special significance as it continues to mark the 30th
anniversary of bilateral relations between the United Mexican States and the Republic of South Africa,
along with the 30th anniversary of South African democracy.

Our ties of friendship, understanding, and cooperation with Mexico and the Central American
countries have been strengthened over the years. It is an honour
to serve as the South African Ambassador to Mexico and the Republics of Costa Rica, El Salvador,
Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama.

The South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation, guided by our
government’s values and principles, underscores the importance of fostering international
relationships built on mutual respect and collaboration. As we celebrate the milestones of our
diplomatic ties, we look forward to enhancing cooperation in various fields, including energy, science,
culture, trade, sports, tourism, and youth exchanges.

Our commitment to transparency, dedication, and mission-oriented service aligns with the values
upheld by the South African Embassy in Mexico and our Honorary Consulates in Mexico and Central
America. We encourage your active participation, welcoming all suggestions and criticisms, promising
a responsive approach to better serve your needs.

To our fellow South African citizens residing in these countries, you form a vibrant community
contributing significantly to the daily life of these nations. The Embassy is here to support you, listen
