PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE Listen Technologies y Williams Sound

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE with mobile listening solutions equipment from Listen Technologies and Williams Sound.

-As a follow-up to the workshop given at the South African Embassy by Public Diplomacy Officer and Translator, Guillermo Prior, a group of young interpreters were in charge of interpretation services for members of the International Affairs Commission of the National Academy of History and Geography Affiliated to UNAM and the Gandhi-Mandela Foundation.

The services provided included simultaneous, consecutive, and phrasing interpretation. At the end of the event, the Ambassador met with the team of interpreters and addressed a special message to them. The South African Embassy and the FORUM MALITZINISTA Interpreter Internship Program plan to invite these and new interpreters for further internships.

  • La interpreter Veronica Mendez‚ with a solid career as a conference interpreter‚ supervised the interpreters and at the end of the event shared valuable comments and recommendations on various aspects of equipment management‚ simultaneous interpretation and physical performance throughout the event.

  • La interpreter Patricia Perezcano‚ an established interpreter and translator from The World Company‚ visited the South African Embassy to conduct an evaluation session and personalized feedback to the interpreters focused on the consecutive interpretation of the Ambassador’s message and the interviews given to the press. The session was framed with valuable anecdotes that Patricia has accumulated during her professional career of almost 30 years.

The Embassy of South Africa is very grateful to Dr. Luis García Erdman and MD Elizabeth Rembis Rubio for opening the doors of the National Academy of History and Geography, to Ambassador Dlomo for his singular enthusiasm in hosting this group of students who did a fantastic professional job, to the interpreter and psychologist @flormontero and interpreters @veronicaméndez and @patriciaperezcano and Patricia Perezcano for the time dedicated to collaborate with these professional internships.
