In memory of a great diplomat: Malcolm Grant Ferguson – Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Mexico (2004- 2007)
Las deepest condolences to Ambassador Ferguson’s family from all of us who worked under him liderazgo
The Agricultural Development Agency (AGDA) is mourning the loss of Malcolm Ferguson, a founding member and former diplomat who passed away in a car accident (last Friday, March 10). He was instrumental in establishing AGDA, an organization focused on incorporating emerging black farmers in South Africa, and his sudden passing has left a deep void in the agricultural sector.
Ferguson’s background in diplomacy also played an important role in his contributions to the agricultural sector. As a former ambassador to Israel, Mexico and several Latin American countries, he understood the importance of partnerships and collaboration in driving sustainable economic growth.
In a statement issued by AGDA’s board and management, the organization expressed its deepest condolences to Ferguson’s family and acknowledged the impact he had on the development sector. «We have lost a giant in the development sector, someone who had the heart and passion to drive inclusion in agriculture,» the release said.
Leona Archary, executive director of AGDA, praised Ferguson’s wisdom and understanding of the sector, which enabled him to build partnerships and networks across the agricultural value chain.
In a moving tribute posted on LinkedIn, she said, «As a founding member of AGDA, Malcolm made a conscious decision to help drive inclusive growth and sustainability in agriculture. He had an innate problem-solving ability that is so necessary to deal with the institutional frameworks that are key to building partnerships for agricultural business transactions.»
