UBUNTU l First Meeting of Afro-descendants and Diasporas of Mexico City

The Secretary of Culture of Mexico held UBUNTU, First Meeting of Afro-descendants and Diasporas of Mexico City, from October 24 to 28, 2023, an event in which H.E. Beryl Rose Sisulu participated along with officials from the SRE and the IOM, the Museum of the CDMX and the Rosario Castellanos University.

 

OPENING CEREMONY:

  • 10:00 am – Stage act inspired by Afro-Latin music.
  • 10:15 am – Welcoming remarks by the museum of the city.
  • 10:20 am – Speech by the representative of the Secretary of Culture.
  • 10:30am – Presentation by the Ambassador for Africa, Asia and the Middle East Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico; José Octavio

  • 10:40am – Presentation by the Deputy Representative of the International Organization for Migration
    Migration, Jeremy Mac Gillivray (@OIM #OIM).
  • 10:50am – Presentation Ambassador of South Africa in Mexico; H.E. Beryl Rose Sisulu (@DeSudafricaMX).
  • 11:00am – Presentation Mtro. José Daniel OrRz Hernández; secretary of university extension, linkage and dissemination of culture. Rosario Castellanos University (Confirmed).
  • 11:10 am – Scenic act inspired by AfroanRllan music.
  • 11:25 am – Presentation of the general program with partners and allies. 

The author of the book «Anacronía Lunar» Osvaldo A. Patiño, made the editorial presentation of his book and presented a copy of his autographed book. The book is a work of Dark & Glow Publishing House.
